About the Role

A Product Manager will expand our software-based revenue, identifying the best strategies to deliver value to our clients — US homebuilders and land developers, whether through developing new products, integrating existing solutions, or leveraging

other innovative approaches.

TraceAir is expanding into new stages of the construction lifecycle and engaging with a broader range of roles and stakeholders within the industry. The mission of this role is to understand the unique needs of these new stakeholders, rapidly validate hypotheses, and implement the fastest and most effective technology solutions. By combining deep user research with a creative approach to problem-solving, you will ensure TraceAir continues to offer cutting-edge, impactful solutions that address real-world challenges while achieving our company goals. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including business strategy, engineering, GIS, operations, and customer success, to develop, test, and deliver scalable products.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Diversification Strategy: Develop and execute strategies for diversifying product revenue streams, with a strong focus on software-based solutions for homebuilders and land developers.

  • Product Development: Validate hypotheses through rapid prototyping and testing. Define user stories and product requirements that align with company goals and market needs.

  • Innovation & Workflow Automation: Identify opportunities to automate traditional workflows and design solutions that bring real, applicable value in a fast-paced environment.

  • User Research & Feedback: Conduct user interviews and analyze feedback to deeply understand customer pain points and opportunities for improvement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, GIS, operations,and customer success teams to align on product goals and ensure timely delivery.

  • Metrics & Reporting: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of new products and inform iterative improvements.

  • Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends and competitor offerings, especially in GIS, CAD, UAS, construction, surveying, and related fields.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in product management or a related role in a tech-focused, B2B environment. Experience with construction technology, GIS, CAD, UAS, or surveying is strongly preferred.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with at least one of the following domains: GIS, CAD, UAS, construction, surveying, or coordinate reference systems (CRS).

  • Rapid Prototyping: Proven experience validating or invalidating hypotheses with creative, iterative approaches.

  • Process Automation: Ability to design solutions that replace manual workflows with automated, scalable alternatives.

  • User-Centric Design: Successfully gathered insights through interviews and translated them into impactful product features.

  • Data Proficiency: Strong ability to use data analysis tools and metrics to make informed decisions.

  • Project Management: Expertise managing multiple projects, balancing priorities, and delivering results under tight timelines.

  • Remote Collaboration: Experience working effectively with distributed teams across time zones.

Hard Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, technology, or geospatial disciplines.

  • Geospatial Technology: Familiarity with construction management, CAD software, drone data acquisition, or geospatial concepts/tools.

  • Agile Development: Knowledge of agile principles and methodologies certifications like PSPO are a plus.

  • Spec Writing: Skilled at writing detailed product specifications and user stories.

  • Interviewing Skills: Expertise in conducting structured interviews to identify client pain points, validate ideas, and gather actionable insights.

  • Prototyping: Experience creating prototypes to rapidly test and iterate on solutions before full-scale development.

Soft Skills

  • Creativity & Problem-Solving: Innovative thinker capable of finding solutions that deliver value in practical, scalable ways.

  • Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills for navigating complex, multifaceted problems.
